
Laura Robson is an Australian-born British pundit and former tennis player.
Former world No. 27 in singles in July 2013, she reached the round of 16 at Wimbledon in the same year and at the US Open in 2012. Among her achievements stands out the silver medal won at the London Olympics in mixed doubles together with her countryman Andy Murray.
Born in Australia to Australian parents, she obtained British citizenship in early 2008. She is the third child of Andrew and Kathy Robson, a coach and former basketball player. The family moved to Singapore when the little girl was only eight months old. and then moved on to England.
She made her debut in the ITF tournaments in 2007 and the following year she won the Wimbledon tournament in the junior category at just 14 years old. She won her first professional tournament in November 2008, and in early 2009 she reached the final of the Australian Open junior.
In 2017 Laura Robson was among the survivors of the Las Vegas massacre. The tennis player, who remained unharmed, was one of 22,000 people who followed the country concert on which Stephen Paddock's murderous rampage struck.
