Lucie Safarova

Lucie Safarova, born February 4, 1987, is a former Czech tennis player.

She has won 7 WTA titles. Her best Grand Slam results are a final at the 2015 French Open, where she eliminated Maria Sharapova and Ana Ivanovic, a semifinal at the 2014 Wimbledon, where she beat Dominika Cibulkova and Ekaterina Makarova, and a quarterfinal at the 2007 Australian Open, where she also beat Amélie Mauresmo and Francesca Schiavone, among others.

She has played in sixteen finals and won seven: in Estoril, Forest Hills, Gold Coast, Québec, Doha and Prague.

In doubles she captured 15 WTA titles, including the 2015 and 2017 Australian Open and the 2015 and 2017 French Open, partnering Bethanie Mattek-Sands, becoming her world No. 1 on August 21, 2017.
