Sam Groth

Sam Groth is a former Australian tennis player. On May 12, 2012, during the match that pitted him against the Belarusian Uladzimir Ihnacik in the challenger tournament in Busan, South Korea, Samuel Groth set a new serve speed record, with a first at about 263 km/h, surpassing the previous record belonged to Ivo Karlović of 251 km/h. In February 2009 he married his colleague Jarmila Gajdosova, from whom he separated in 2011.

In 2005 he reached the junior doubles final at the Wimbledon tournament partnering Andrew Kennaugh. The following year he began his professional career and reached the first Futures finals in doubles; he reached his first singles futures final in 2007, the year he won his first five doubles titles and made his first Challenger tournament appearances.
