Justine Henin

Justine Henin is a Belgian tennis coach and former tennis player.

Born in Liège, Wallonia, the French-speaking region of Belgium, at the time of her marriage to Pierre-Yves Hardenne, which took place on November 16, 2002 and ended in January 2007, her official name was Justine Henin-Hardenne.

In her career she won 43 WTA titles, including 7 Grand Slam events: four times at the Roland Garros (three consecutive times), two at the US Open and once at the Australian Open, and is considered, together with Kim Clijsters, one of the strongest Belgian tennis players ever. Her palmarès also includes two end-of-year Masters and an Olympic gold medal at the 2004 Athens Olympics.

Retired from competition in May 2008, while she was still number one in the world, on 22 September 2009 she announced her return to competition. On January 26, 2011 she announced on her website her definitive withdrawal from competitions due to an elbow injury suffered the previous year at Wimbledon.
