Nenad Zimonjic

Nenad Zimonjić, born in 1976, is a tennis coach and former Serbian doubles tennis player, in which he was world number one together with Daniel Nestor.

He is the second Serbian tennis player to reach first place in the doubles rankings, before him Slobodan Zivojinović achieved the feat in 1986. Considered the best Serbian doubles player as he won three Grand Slam titles in doubles and 5 in mixed doubles, and a Davis Cup in 2010.

He was captain of the Serbian Davis Cup team from 2003 to 2004 and from 2017 to 2020.

In 2021, he became the oldest active tennis player, following the retirements of Leander Paes (1973) and Julian Knowle (1974). Zimonjic is also the tennis player with the most matches in the Davis Cup for the national team (49) and also the one with the highest number of editions played (20).

In 2018 he operated on his hips and at that moment a collapse in the standings followed which will force him to play only Challenger tournaments. In 2020 he won the first edition of the ATP Cup with Serbia. Starting from that year he significantly reduced his professional commitments by playing just six matches between 2020 and 2021 without winning any. During 2021 he comes out of the world top 1000.
