
Rajeev Ram is an American tennis player of Indian origins, number three in the world doubles ranking and former number one and champion of the Australian Open 2020 and at the US Open 2021 in doubles with Joe Salisbury, with whom he also reached the final at the Australian Open 2021.
He played 42 doubles finals on the major tour, with twenty-three wins. His first final dates back to 2005 when he, paired with Bobby Reynolds, was defeated in New Haven by the Argentines Etlis and Rodríguez. His first success comes in 2009 at the Chennai Open paired with his compatriot Eric Butorac, with success in the final over Wawrinka and Scherrer 6-3 6-4.
In the same year he also won in Newport and again with Butorac in Bangkok. Subsequently he takes three successes paired with Scott Lipsky. In Atlanta in 2010, San Jose and Delray Beach in 2011. His seventh career doubles title came in 2012 in St. Petersburg paired with Nenad Zimonjićc.
In 2014, paired with Jonathan Erlich, he reached the final at the Newport tournament, while in June 2015 he won the German tournament on grass in Halle in doubles, paired with the South African Raven Klaasen, confirmed the following year.
To his doubles titles must be added twenty-five victories on the Challenger circuit, from 2004 to 2015. In 2017 he decides to retire from singles, concluding his career in the Newport tournament, and to continue only in doubles, although he will later make two more appearances in singles in ATP tournament qualifiers.
He wins his first Grand Slam tournament in mixed doubles at the 2019 Australian Open and the first triumph in men's doubles comes at the 2020 Australian Open.
