Edoardo Molinari

Edoardo Molinari was born in Turin, on February 11, 1981, and is an Italian golfer. He is Francesco Molinari's older brother.

He had a brilliant amateur career, winning several national championships. In 2005 he became the first Italian and the first European golfer to win the US Amateur championship. As a result of that win he qualified to play at the 2006 US Masters, US Open and British Open.

On November 29, 2009, Molinari, together with his younger brother Francesco brought to Italy the World Cup won at the Omega Mission Hills World Cup in China. On 11 July 2010 he won the Scottish Open on the Loch Lomond course ahead of the Northern Irishman Darren Clarke and the Frenchman Raphaël Jaquelin.

On August 29, 2010 he won the Johnny Walker Championship in front of Brett Rumford and his brother Francesco. From 1 to 4 October 2010, he was part of the European Ryder Cup squad that captured the 2010 Ryder Cup at Celtic Manor in Wales.

On April 16, 2017, after 7 years without a win on the European Tour, he won the Hassan II Golf Trophy by beating Irishman Paul Dunne in the Play-off.
