
Angelo Binaghi was born in Cagliari on July 5, 1960.
He achieved the best overall ranking in 1982 with 16th national place. In 1980 and 1983 he graduated as champion of Italy in mixed doubles, paired with Paola Ippoliti
In 1981 and 1983 he won the silver medal in men's doubles in Bucharest (XI Universiade) and Edmonton (XII Universiade) paired with Raimondo Ricci Bitti.
In 1994 he began his managerial career in the Cagliari Tennis Club and later he was a councilor in the Sardinian Regional Committee and in the National Committee of the Italian Tennis Federation, of which he will become president in 2001.
Married and father of a son, he graduated in engineering in Cagliari.
In a recent press conference, Binaghi expressed a lot of satisfaction and enthusiasm for the numbers recorded by the latest edition of the Nitto ATP Finals 2022, held at the PalaAlpitour in Turin.
Analyzing the numbers, he said: "ATP Media data reveal that the tournament was broadcast by 80 broadcasters around the world, which reached 179 countries (35 more than in 2021). Almost 16,000 hours of TV exposure were recorded and streaming, for a total audience of over 190 million people, including social media. In Italy we had almost 9.5 million viewers on TV and in streaming at the Finals, in an edition without Italian tennis players at the start."
