Filip Polasek

Filip Polasek, born in Zvolen on July 25, 1985, is a Slovak tennis player. A doubles specialist, he won the 2021 Australian Open paired with Ivan Dodig and boasts 14 other specialty titles on the major circuit, including a Masters 1000 tournament.

In doubles he reached 7th place in the ATP ranking on February 3, 2020, while in singles he did not go beyond the 555th position on November 26, 2007.

He won his first Grand Slam title at the 2021 Australian Open alongside Ivan Dodig, and also won the 2019 Cincinnati Masters and 2021 Indian Wells Masters, with Dodig and John Peers respectively. Polasek was the first Slovak man to reach, or win a major doubles final.

He also reached the semifinals at the 2019 Wimbledon Championships, 2020 Australian Open and 2021 US Open. He qualified for the ATP Finals in both 2019 and 2021. He has represented Slovakia in the Davis Cup since 2008, and also competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics partnering Lukas Klein.
