Sergio Garcia

Sergio Garcia has been a professional since 1999, a member of the PGA Tour and the European Tour. After his victory at the 2008 HSBC Champions he reached the position of No. 2 in the world behind Tiger Woods, and is currently No. 128 in the world.

In 2016 he managed to cap his ninth victory on the PGA Tour, winning the AT & T Byron Nelson. In 2017 he won the Augusta Masters after an extraordinary duel with the Englishman Justin Rose, which ended in a playoff.

In his first year as a pro, he immediately stood out with a spectacular head-to-head with Tiger Woods at the 1999 PGA Championship, where he performed his most famous shot: an intentional slice from behind a tree with the ball going into the green and García running and jumping to see it land.

García has always been one of the strongest tee-to-green players, with a very distinctive swing.

He is one of the pillars of the European Ryder Cup team, in which he has 6 victories (2002, 2004, 2006, 2012, 2014, 2018) in 9 participations and has set the record of youngest participant in the tournament (in 1999 edition).
