Astana Open

The Astana Open is a men's tennis tournament, part of the men's ATP 500 Tour and the women's WTA 250, and is played in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan, on the indoor hard courts of the National Tennis Centre.

Inaugurated in 2020 as the ATP 250, the tournament had been awarded by the ATP with a license valid for one year only to compensate for the cancellations of some tournaments on the major circuit due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The annual license was confirmed in 2021 and with the 2022 edition, the Astana Open became an ATP 500 and a permanent tournament on the circuit. The tournament is held on indoor hard courts.

Since the year 2020, it was primarily organized due to the cancellation of many tournaments during the 2020 season, because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. It is the first time in history that an ATP and a WTA tournament has been held in Kazakhstan.
