Jimmy Connors

Jimmy Connors, with 109 titles won, is the tennis player who has won the most tournaments in men's singles in the Open Era, winning eight Grand Slam singles tournaments during his career, and reaching the final seven more times, and two doubles titles .

He has won the US Open 5 times, Wimbledon 2 times and the Australian Open 1 time.

He was long in first place in the world rankings in the seventies, then reappeared at the top of the rankings in the eighties, after the retirement of his great rival Björn Borg.

He was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 1998.

Connors has been engaged to Chris Evert, with whom he has also played mixed doubles tournaments. The two were supposed to get married on November 8, 1974, but the marriage was postponed and then annulled, and the two gave the news of the end of their relationship in 1975, just before the Wimbledon tournament. In May 2013 Connors published his autobiography, in which he stated that the end of their relationship was due to the fact that Evert was pregnant and unilaterally made the decision to terminate the pregnancy.

In 1977 he was romantically linked to Miss World Marjorie Wallace. In 1979 he married Playboy model Patti McGuire; the couple have two children and live in California, in Santa Barbara.
