Toni Nadal

Toni Nadal is the uncle and former coach of tennis player Rafael Nadal, whom he coached to the top of the world rankings. Known for his qualities as a great motivator, he passed on this mentality to Rafa, making him one of the greatest tennis players of all time.

The Nadals are a close-knit family and share a residential building in Manacor. Toni has three brothers including Sebastian Nadal, Miguel Ángel Nadal and a sister. Sebastian is Rafael Nadal's father and owns and runs his restaurant while Miguel Angel is a former footballer who played for Mallorca, Barcelona as well as the Spanish national team.

After Rafael's victory at Roland Garros 2013, he detached Lennart Bergelin, stuck at eleven Grand Slam titles, becoming the coach with the most Majors won in his career (13), which became 14 exactly one year later, again in Paris. In June 2017 he reached 15 after Rafa's tenth victory at Roland Garros and 16 in September of the same year after that of the US Open.

At the end of the 2017 season, Toni leaves his role as Rafael's coach and begins to devote himself full-time to the Rafael Nadal Academy. In April 2021, after having taken care of the academy for years, he announces that he will return to coach a professional tennis player, following the Canadian Félix Auger-Aliassime.
